Whether you employees work in an office or on site a number of them will need to be First Aid Trained. So if an incident did occur they would potentially be able to save someone's life. First Aid At Work Training Course About the First Aid Course: A full Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.This First Aid course can be adapted to suit delegates, for example, clerical or engineering staff. Candidates will have to be able to cope with the demands expected of a First Aider, such as lifting and being able to cope with injuries and emergencies. On the First Aid course delegates will learn how to deal with the following; Role of the First Aider and Incident Management Examination of the casualty and recovery position Respiration and resuscitation Circulation and treatment of blood lose Shock and the digestive system Poisoning and the central nervous system Burns and scalds Disorders of the circulation Major incidents Fractures Back and spinal injuries Transportation of the casualty Eye injuries Hypothermia Minor injuries Contents of the first aid box Reporting procedures under RIDDOR Practical demonstrations and exercises are undertaken throughout the course to ensure delegates have a full grasp of treatment methods.  Who Should Attend a First Aid Training Course? Employees who are to be designated as the First Aider at Work. The First Aid certificate lasts for a period of 3 years and can be subsequently renewed by attending a 2 day First Aid refresher course prior to the expiry date.  First Aid Course Duration: This First Aid course is 3 day course. Students will be assessed by the tutor throughout the course. Final practical and oral assessments of the skill learned will be undertaken on the last day of the course. First Aid Qualification: HSE Approved First Aid at Work Certificate.This First Aid certificate lasts for a period of 3 years and can be subsequently renewed by attending a 2 day refresher course prior to the expiry date. Emergency First Aid Training Courses About the First Aid Course: This Emergency First Aid Course can be adapted to suit a particular audience and is ideal for people requiring Appointed Person status, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. Suitable candidates from the workplace should be able to cope with the demands expected of a first aider, such as lifting and being able to cope with injuries and emergencies.   Half Day Emergency Aid covers the following: Role of the First Aider Incident management Examination of the casulaty Recovery position Respiration Resuscitation Circulation Treatment of blood loss Contents of the first aid box Reporting procedures under RIDDOR  Full Day Appointed Person covers all of the above and the following in addition: Shock Major incidents Burns and scalds Fractures, dislocations, sprains etc Back and spinal injuries Transportation of the casualty Eye injuries Hypothermia Minor injuries During these short First Aid courses each candidate will take part in practical demonstrations and exercises. A greater emphasis is placed on the basics of resuscitation, control of bleeding, calling for medical assistance, managing the scene and incident reporting.  Who Should Attend a First Aid Training Course? Employees who are able to take charge of an incident in the absence of the qualified first aider, peripatetic workers and others whose duties often take them away from the main workplace (e.g. company drivers and security staff). First Aid Course Duration This First Aid course is 4 four day course   First Aid Qualification HSE Approved First Aid Appointed Person Certificate. The First Aid certificate lasts for a period of up to 3 years, although the Health & Safety Executive recommends and interim First Aid refresher training on an annual basis.
