IPAF Training Courses (International
Powered Access Federation)
|
|
Project Skills Solutions offer IPAF training through associate
accredited training centres in Essex and Manchester (PASMA), or offered throughout the UK at client premises.
All
courses are mixed theory and practical allowing candidates to get a good level of competence.
IPAF developed
their courses to promote the correct, safe and effective use of powered access.
The law requires employees to
be properly trained on the equipment they use at work. The PAL Card offers proof that employees have been trained to work
at height safely.
What makes IPAF the number one Powered Access
Training scheme? - IPAF is one of only two training providers recognised by the MCG (Main Contractors Group)
- IPAF are the UK’s most established access
platform training provider and has been in operation since 1983.
- Over 70,000 PAL cards are issued each year under the training programme certified by TUV as conforming to ISO 18878.
- The IPAF PAL card is held by over 250,000 successful
applicants.

What is a PAL Card?
A PAL card is a Powered Access License, issued
by the International Powered Access Federation, a non-profit making organisation dedicated to promoting safe working at height.
Height workers need to show that they have been trained to work at height. If they can’t, they won’t be
allowed on site. That’s why the PAL card is so important – it confirms that someone can operate mobile elevating
work platforms safely and effectively.
It’s the law. The law requires employees to be properly trained
on the equipment they use at work. The PAL card offers proof that employees have been trained to work at height safely.
IPAF has revised the categories in it’s training programme to align with the international standards PREN 280
and ISO DIS 16368, standards that regulate the design and manufacture of access platforms worldwide.
