Every year there are numerous incidents involving reversing vehicles in workplaces. Just under half of all incidents involving being struck by a moving vehicle involved reversing. Many other reversing accidents do not result in injury, but cause costly damage to vehicles, equipment and premises.
Employers should take steps to make sure that people who direct vehicle movements (signallers/banksmen) on, off and around a busy are trained and authorised to do so. This can help reduce the risk and prevent further accidents from occurring.
The course aims to prepare delegates to recognize the importance of accepting and dispersing vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
