The ‘Working in Series’ of programmes are aimed specifically at those leaving the armed services and looking to enter the commercial world at a management level. The programmes are informative, relevant and above all highly practical.

The ‘working in series’ looks to develop participants in four core areas:

  • Providing a solid understanding of the particular business sector and it’s current economic status
  • Developing the necessary skills to succeed in the industry
  • Developing the personal skills necessary for entering into the industry
  • Developing an action plan for targeting specific companies in your chosen industry

Course Information:
This programme provides delegates with practical ideas, tools and techniques for successfully gaining employment in sales and / or marketing.

Working in Sales & Marketing will provide you with the skills and knowledge for working in a Sales & Marketing capacity in Commercial, Public Sector or Not for Profit Organisations.

In this current climate companies are looking for individuals who will give them a cutting edge, particularly within the roles of Marketing and Sales which have a direct impact on Business Performance.

This course covers core Marketing principles and practises and then develops personal sales skills before providing sales management tools and techniques.

The final two days of this programme are dedicated to developing the personal skills for gaining employment in Management and putting together a targeted action plan / strategy for approaching organisation employing managers.

This programme provides delegates with practical ideas, tools and techniques for successfully gaining employment in project management.

Working in management will provide you with the skills and knowledge for working in a project management capacity in Commercial, Public Sector or Not for Profit Organisations.

Projects bring together resources, skills, technology and ideas to achieve business objectives and deliver business benefits. Good project management helps to ensure that risks are identified and managed appropriately, and objectives and benefits are achieved within budget, time and the required quality.

This programme provides a fantastic introduction into project management and whilst using Prince 2 as a framework to the programme it covers more than methodology, the programme practically looks at the need for project management in the commercial sector, the roles available as well as the way to get those roles. Above all this programme provides you with the wherewithal to combine existing skills and experience with new skills and experiences to give you the confident and competence to be successful in your new working environment.

Course Content

This programme provides delegates with the skills and knowledge for working in a Learning & Development capacity in a commercial, public sector or not for profit organisation as well as an independent consultant / freelance trainer / instructor.

The programme will be looking at the industry as a whole and the nature of the roles available before targeting the skills necessary for being effective in the role. The learning cycle from identification of training needs to learning evaluation is covered including Coaching and Group Training Skills.

The final two days of the programme are dedicated to developing the personal skills for gaining employment in Learning & Development and putting together a targeted action plan / strategy for approaching organisations employing managers. The two days are also available as a stand alone programme entitles Marketing and Selling Self in the Commercial World.

Who Should Attend?

This programme is open to all service personnel with training / instructor experience and or qualifications who are about to leave or have recently left the Armed Forces and are looking to transfer their skills into the commercial sector. Working in Development is suitable for those looking to administer, manage and / or deliver training workplace subject.

This programme makes no bones about it’s aims and objectives which are to enable you to have the best possible chance of securing the job you want.

Selling and Marketing Self is a highly practical and extremely effective 2 day (with a third optional day) workshop that maximises your job hunting opportunities by providing essential ideas, tips and techniques for marketing and selling yourself effectively to prospective employers.

This course is designed and delivered by those who understand the difference between the Armed Forces and the commercial worlds and are able to help you highlight the skills and traits you have whilst developing those that you may need.

Selling and Marketing Yourself is an integral part of our ‘Working in’ series of training programmes as well as a stand alone course.
An optional third day is available for practical interview and presentation practice using role play, video analysis and review.

This programme is open to all service personnel who are looking to, or have recently left the Armed Forces.
